This is 100% a job scam.

PLEASE Don’t Tell Them!

When the scammers find out their scam company name is listed here, they will simply change the company name. Thousands of people find these posts and find out that the job is a scam via my site and others that warn people of these scams.

So – please – do not tell scammers that their company name is listed here or anywhere else on the web as a scam – it will take them mere seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be easily searchable for any future victims to find.

How Do You Know This Job Is A Scam?

This is a fake job scam. You can read more about how these scams work at Scamwatch.

In this case it seems they are direct depositing stolen or fraudulent funds into the bank accounts of scam victims. The money will appear to be legit to begin with. They will ask you to transfer funds to them via Western Union or Moneygram. It may take up to a year for the transaction to be reversed but it WILL be reversed and when it is, you will be required to pay the money back to the bank.

I gave them my bank account details?

If you gave them the account name, BSB and account number, they can easily print fake cheques with that information. You definitely need to speak to your bank about this ASAP.

In this particular instance, you may find they deposit a sum into your account – or they may send your account a payment from a stolen credit card. If that happens, DO NOT touch that money, because eventually the bank will reverse that payment.

If it were my bank details, I would close that account as a matter of great urgency. Speak to your bank as soon as you can, and they will likely advise you to do that.

I would advise anyone caught out by this scam to make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman and also to Scamwatch via this form. The scam victim may be able to sort out a deal with the bank where the bank pays some – or all – of the losses.

  1. I’ll keep a look out for it, but most things like this go straight to my spam folder anyway and I never check in there, just delete the contents without opening it.

  2. I was not seeing the harm in the job, until towards the end where you explained how it all works, and as you have before and I had forgotten. Good work by you.

  3. Hi everyone,

Hi everyone, I also received the above letter, and then received brochure of the company and an application form which I filled in and sent back to Paula Hanson thinking it was all legit.

I then received a contract agreement to sign and send back to this Paula Hanson.
Meanwhile, I was getting calls from individuals with foreign accents urging me to send the filled in docs urgently because positions were being filled fast.
I remember on chap (Jack – no surname) had a South American accent and the other (Kate – no surname) had a Scandinavian accent.

Unfortunately, I had already filled in the application form and included my name, address phone number and email address, as well as some career related questions like education and previous employers, and they wanted 3 work references.
I filled in some of these details but did not give any references, and after sending it in I though that they would have come back to me telling me that the application was incomplete.
Instead I received a contract agreement to sign.

The contract agreement looked suspect because the address of the company was a random address in Houston Texas (namely: 2470 Smith St, Houston, TX 77019 ).
Suspecting this address because it was inappropriately written, I Google Earthed the address to see if it was legit. The address shows a section of Smith Street in Houston, with a U-Haul Warehouse facility on the one side of the road and a SPECS Shopping Centre on the other side.
This triggered me off in thinking I was scammed.

And then I researched (which I should have done in the first place originally before even getting involved with them).

So, please take care and do your research about these internet scams before you even think of getting involved with them.

I can post / attach all these documents here so that you all know what they look like, but I don’t know how to do this on this website/blog. If somebody can explain how to do this I will add these docs here.

  4. Hi Everyone, I sent my message via the email me contact form of this website. I hope somebody posts it here. I could not post it here because my message was too long and the’Post Comment’ button below disappeared of the screen.
