Topics on my mind..

There’s a lot of stuff which I’ve thought I should blog about lately but none of these posts have happened. For example –

The spiders in that kid’s ears! It’s freaking me out people. I have heard that rice krispy noise in there before!

Unions. The labor scheme to sell out workers to unions concerns me. For obvious reasons.

I was once a member of a union. It was ok, not really that much money to pay and it had some good benefits, but the idea of *forcing* anyone to be a member of a union is not a good one IMO. And I hate the way Union people call those who aren’t in the union “scabs”. It’s a matter of personal choice whether someone wants to pay union fees or not. To call them names for choosing not to, that bothers me.

It bothers me that the Labor of today is still linked with these people who choose pressure and bullying as decent tactics in a work place. I think they really need to stand away from all that – otherwise the Libs will get in again. Not that I think that is a bad thing, all political parties have their good points and their bad points.

I got some Emerald Green paint because I seem to suck at mixing green, and some sealer the other day.

There’s a new house in the area we like which we might be able to look at. It’s $20 more than we pay now. That’s not so good. But it is in the street we love and might be big enough.

err, sorry

To the person who got here by searching for photos of removing tonsils, I can’t help you with that. :)

Well. I’m a bit pissed off right now. I seem to have forgotten how to type and all kinds of odd letters are making their way into my sentences. ;)

I’m gonna do some painting instead.

A West Wing Update

Haven’t I been a good girl? I am up to episode 14 of season 2. Considering I started season two last Monday, I think that is actually pretty conservative of me. Just under 3 episodes a day but I am fairly sure I watched 4 on Monday. ;)

Now I am starting to get to episodes that I have seen before, which is a little strange.

The Other Half asked me yesterday if we could switch sides of the bed. We switched at the start of summer and he’s been sleeping badly ever since. I’m nice so I said yes, but halfway through the night he ended up back on my side, leaving me with no bedspace at all. We might have to look at the Feng Shui of that room or something. ;)

I’m gonna paint and watch a West Wing, be good ya’all.

Welcome to 2007

This is going to be my year of telling people what I really think, I think. I’m sick of pretending otherwise. If people don’t like it, they can feel free to fold it up and stick it where the sun does not shine. :)

A few things have occured already this year to make me think I’m not going to keep my mouth shut on things when they bother me. One was the COPS marathon. I have sent two letters already to the tv channel responsible for that absolute disgrace – it lasted less than 24 hours, and they repeated episodes, some up to 5 times in less than 14 hours. COPS has over 650 episodes. That’s 19 500 minutes, or 13 days 13 hours worth of episodes – at 30 mins each including all the ads which was how they were running it. They could have played different episodes for over 13 days!

The second was a fruit purchase. Well, not exactly fruit – mandarin pieces in jelly. When I went to eat one of these tasty looking snacks, it was strangely odd looking, until I realised the use by date was the 4th of December and they were actually growing a white mould on them. I’d bought them on the 24th of December. That’s bad.

I also intend not to keep my mouth shut when things are good – I have been drinking some amazing apple juice which I bought at the good fruit and veg shop on the weekend, and I am sending the manufacturers of the juice an email to let them know :) It’s in these 2 litre big glass bottles which take up heaps of space in the fridge, and I loved it so much I am already plotting Tupperware purchases of jugs that fit nicely in the fridge door. I’ve run out of juice now and I’m sooo thirsty for it, it was icy cold and gorgeous.

The really cool thing about giving good feedback is you often get rewarded for it, so I’m all for that.

I knew I should have..

bought that great tripod easel thing we saw today when we were out shopping. I’m running out of room on the table fast for my painting projects. I bought several new canvasses today which I’d like to get a start on as well but I already have two projects in the first stage sitting there which need a second coat – with the easel I probably could have sat them there to dry while I started new things.

We did a day out shopping today, it was very busy. Then we went to wash the car. The amount of traffic out there on the roads is scary, and I’m not even sure we’ll get in to the chinese tonight, there’s millions of tourists here.

Yesterday I watched the Dead Poets Society. I really love that film, it’s one of my favourites.
