The Pittosporum Hedge

This hedge at my parents place is at least 6 feet tall and it has grown to that height very quickly. If you want a hedge super fast, I recommend Pittosporum.

It could be considered a little boring but unlike some of the other hedging plants used (eg. Jasmine, Lilly Pilly) most people are unlikely to be allergic to it. :)

  1. Hm, intersting. I don’t think I’ve heard of that one! My mom is trying to grow a boxwood hedge, which doesn’t seem to be particularly fast-growing.

    • I don’t know if I saw any Pittosporum in Hawaii at all. I think people might use a lot of hibiscus for hedging over there. :) Which is great, I love hibiscus and have a lot of trouble growing them myself, not sure why.. :)

    • I do sometimes feel like going Edward Scissorhands on their hedge and making creatures out of it, but they would dead me dead. :) I think this kind of hedge would lend itself well to a dragon or Loch Ness monster! ;)
