Welcome to my World
You Gotta Start Somewhere

Welcome to my feedreader, bloggers.

There are 37 of you. In my internet travels I found my way to your blog, often because I read a blogger who linked to you. I liked your blog a lot. While there, I probably read back about 40+ posts or so. Then I added you to my feedreader..

Most of you will know what a feedreader is, but in case you do not, click here for info. The quick run down – it is an awesome program which collects new articles that bloggers post. So when you post something new, I get a copy, and if I have the time and something to say, I will click through and comment. If you want to get a feed reader, I highly recommend Inoreader, which I have been using a lot lately.

At the end of 6 months or so, if I am still loving your blog as much as I did when I added you to my feed reader, I will add you to my permanent blogroll. YAY!

Why did I unsubscribe from 20 of the 45 blogs? Some of the reasons are as follows listed in no particular order – taken from my blog posts 14 Reasons and 10 New Reasons I unsubscribed from blogs.

Where Are You? I’m Not Feeling It. I’m Waiting. They Told Me They Were Quitting. Blogs With A Partial Feed. They Became Brainwashed.

A Note About Next Month.

In November last year I participated in NaBloPoMo as well as Nano Poblano and I did a commenting challenge. By the end of November I had added 133 new blogs to the feed reader. I’m going to be pretty ruthless in extracting the gems out of this list and creating folders with a more manageable number of blogs and I have to be totally honest with you – I am really looking forward to doing this, because some of these bloggers have turned out to be a bit annoying.. :(

Is your blog not found on the blogroll or in the recent new feeds posts? Would you like Snoskred to test drive your blog? Email Snoskred via the contact page and Snoskred will add your blog to her feed reader. :)

  1. I have a stat counter on my blog, as many people do and while I don’t pay much attention to it, does it register when someone reads your blog in a reader? I tend to only open someone’s blog properly if I am going to comment or take a closer look at photos.

  2. Oh cool – lots of blogs that I haven’t even heard of! I can hardly keep up with the ones I’ve got but it’s too tempting not to check out some new ones and fall down all the new rabbit holes! I went to a blogging event a few months ago and they said that there’s about 75000 wordpress blogs in the world. Sheeesh. It could totally be one’s life’s work trying to get through them all!

    • This is one reason I publish the new feeds I find monthly – because I know how hard it can be to find good blogs out there on the web. :) There’s a lot of noise hiding the awesomes.

I do find there is a huge drop off rate with blogs – so many quit, vanish, drop their posting back to once a month, or stop posting entirely..

Sammie next week on Monday I will start a new blog series here on the blog which was actually inspired by a post you wrote, FYI. :) I do give you full credit and link back to the post which inspired it.

    • The feed reader is the thing that makes reading so many blogs possible. It saves me bucketloads of time loading individual blogs and just gives me the most recent post. I presently have 489 feeds in the reader, and that is way down from the 700 or so I usually have. Nearly 100 of those feeds never post at all anymore, I’m just keeping them in my reader in case the blogger decides to return one day. :)

Feed reading combined with the fact I am a super fast reader, I actually need a fair bit of content to read daily. :)

  3. Thank you for Including me on your blog roll
Your blog roll certainly has a great selection to choose from.
I used to read so many blogs – but life gets in the way and I don’t read as many now. I tend to leave comments on Facebook or on the blog – only if I have something to say.
