Ready for bed @8:30pm!

The last two nights, I’ve gone to bed with Rob Lowe and frankly I am completely exhausted at this point.

I want to go to bed with him again tonight but I am not sure I have the energy.

Not only is he sexy and extraordinarily pretty but he is incredibly smart too!

And he is an amazing writer..

Of course the real truth is that I have been going to bed with his awesome book titled Stories I Only Tell My Friends.

The first night I was already tired and I intended to only read a couple of chapters. I finally managed to put it down with great reluctance when I finished chapter 8.

The second night I went to bed even earlier so I could read more of it before it was sleep time. One minute it was 10pm, the next minute it was 11:50 – where did that almost two hours go?

I was hoping I could finish it tonight but I honestly don’t know if I can manage it. I haven’t even got to the bits about The West Wing yet. I am looking forward to that.

I think maybe I’ll get an early night and seeing as I don’t have to go to work tomorrow, I might finish the book before getting up in the morning. ;)

Easter Is CANCEL!

Since January, my every day breakfast has been Hot X Buns. I am not a good breakfaster, I will skip it unless I have something I enjoy eating handy and easy to make. I love a Hot X Bun, and I don’t mind making them myself but I love it when the other half makes them for me which he is happy to do while the coffee is being made.

After Easter was over, I went to Coles, Aldi, Woolworths and IGA looking for Hot X Buns. In every store, I saw people just like me, wandering aimlessly around looking for the buns and not finding them. I saw people sadly exploring the raisin toast option with disgruntled looks on their faces. I saw one woman considering English Muffins. I saw a man looking sadly at the crumpets, dreaming of what could have been.

I ended up at Bakers Delight, paying $13 for 12 hot x buns, knowing that I have had the buns from there before and not liked them very much and they don’t last very long either. I ate those, thinking Easter was over and these were the last Hot X Buns on the planet.

Then I went to the *second* Woolworths, because we have two, lucky us! And it was HAPPY DANCE because they had Hot X Buns there on the shelf. I thought this may have been an accident, or perhaps they had cooked too many and still had some left from Easter. I bought every packet I saw which at the time was sadly only 3. Would these be the last Hot X Buns for 2011?

Apparently not! I kept going back and they kept having them. I couldn’t believe my good luck. Could Easter last all year? Or was this a Woolworths going rogue, cooking buns when they were not supposed to because people wanted them and kept buying them? Or did the baker just like making them?

Whatever it was.. it seems that it is over for good now. *SOB* I have been back several times over the last week and they now have some kind of raisin bread where the buns used to be. And every time I go there, I see that I am not the only one mourning the loss of the buns.

Last night while sadly searching the shelves for buns, I found an enormous box of Croissants. I guess that will be the new Breakfast, at least until January next year. I am not kidding, this box was almost a metre long! It has 12 jumbo croissants in it.

I had one this morning. A hot x bun it is not. But it is a hot breakfast, and it meant I could go to work and do my 6 hour shift without keeling over from a lack of food and being tempted by the large range of chocolates and cookies on my Team Leaders desk. For fundraising, they are. Supposedly. When I have the Hot X Bun breakfast, I am able to withstand the temptation of Mint Aero bars and Caramello.

This time next week I will be welcoming my new Chicken friends to their new home. More on that as it comes to hand! The coop is nearly finished now, so they will have a lovely new home. I am a little sad for them, that they won’t be getting hot X bun treats like Frogdancer’s chickens got on Easter Sunday. I don’t think they will like a croissant.

Love Love

Before I even had time to sit down and put my thoughts together about the new cd from Take That they have released an awesome song which is in the new movie X-men First Class.

Like all songs with me, I wasn’t too sure about it the first time I heard it, but it is quite the addictive little tune and before long it was going round and round in my head.

Without further ado, love love. Have a listen and let me know what you think! ;)

Abu Dhabi Doo..

Look. I love Sex and The City as much as most people out there who own a television set and have seen the show more than once. I have seen the whole series several times over. There were cringeworthy moments but these were more than made up for by the fashion, the glitter, the hair, the shoes, the ladies, the gorgeous men..

I saw the first movie and it was pretty good. Mildly annoying in places, but generally good. There was full frontal male nudity which is always an epic win as far as I am concerned. ;)

I read the reviews of the second movie and decided to wait till it arrived on dvd from Quickflix. I am so glad I did wait but then again.. I almost regret sitting through it. Twice. The second time for the commentary track.

I pity the poor men who were dragged along to this movie. It took an hour of screen time for them to even leave to go to Abu Dhabi, then it took an hour and a half for the rest of it to play out! If not for the gorgeous outfits, shoes and general prettiness, I would not have made it through the movie at all. I almost switched it off when they karaoke sang I am woman but they all had sparkly outfits on and I was dazed by the glitter.

Listening to the commentary track I understood better the reasons why it was so over the top but there was never an explanation for the two and a half hour running time.

Some of the jokes fell so flat.. eg Abu Dhabi Doo.. that was plain disturbing especially coming from the normally sane Miranda.

I cannot possibly imagine a third movie but if one were made, such is my addiction that I would watch it. Only once the next time, though!
