One of the things I love about the tinyMCE editor (Snos got me hooked on it; I hadn't installed it at first) - is that there are a bunch of extra keyboard shortcuts - for example, if you want to make one of the Headers - i.e. Heading 1, Heading 2, etc., you just have to type Ctrl + 1 through 6 for the header you want.

If you want to find out the shortcuts, just hover over the button and it will tell you what it is. ;)

However, I have noticed that the shortcuts don't seem to work all the time (such as the shortcut for centreing a piece of text; no biggie though, I just use the button).

Wow. I never even noticed the "header" option in Advanced tinyMCE editor, and I've been using it for nigh on two weeks now... dammit, I really should open my eyes a bit more. Thanks for the tips :)

Nice tips for those who are starting out on wordpress now that evil blogger is being, well, more evil. Just one thing I noticed - I find it easier to start posts from the Dashboard screen, because the Dashboard is usually the first screen you see when logging in. On the Dashboard, underneath "Welcome to Wordpress", you'll find "Create post" at the top of the list.

Thanks very much for that. Sadly, that is as high a resolution as my screen will go.

Thanks for the post too - I wondered why the little linky things were grey and wouldn't let me use them. Life is MUCH easier now.

Another question - how do you get those little screen pictures in there? Andrew Boyd tried to explain it to me but I still can't seem to do it. Answer this question at your own leisure by the way - don't feel like you have to answer immediately. :-)

Dorothy - It's mainly to save me energy, because at this stage I have been typing this stuff out in emails to people. ;) This will make my life easier but hopefully not just mine. ;)

Lightening - You have email. ;) It is because your screen resolution is a bit low, so I have to remove some buttons for you. I'm fixing it now.

Cheers,
Snoskred. ;)

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my write post screen as it doesn't look like yours. Mine extends over the stuff to the side which means I can't see all of my editing options but also makes it hard to edit some of my text as I can't see it. I've gotten around that bit by switching back and forth between the visual and code views. If you get a minute, would you mind taking a quick look for me????? Ta muchly. :-)
