Being an irregular insomniac, I’d never get any sleep if I did this!
I sleep so little anyway.. However, sometimes just laying in bed and daydreaming works for me…

Hi, Dorothy, I do the daydreaming thing too and eventually fall asleep where the daydream becomes a genuine dream, then I wake up hours later. Do you nap in the daytime? I work a morning shift and when I leave work there are jokes about me going home for my “nanny nap”. I sleep for about 1 1/2 -2 hours really deeply and wish I could sleep as deeply at night.
Liv - It is a tried and true method for me, if I can’t sleep I make myself get up and do something useful. It works fairly well..
Flametree - I used to be an insomniac myself, but it seems to be getting better lately..
Dorothy - Sort of like the old counting sheep thing, except making up a story? Yeah that works for me too as long as recurring thoughts don’t get in the way.
River - my parents have big long nanna naps.
They are regularly up at 5am as a result of that. I think they’re loony, somewhat.
