On September 11th 2001, terrorists did some terrible things. For some people it had little effect, but for my friend Sephy who happens to have his birthday on this day and for my friend Mark from the UK who lost his uncle in the attack and for all plane enthusiasts all over the world life changed forever. Today my thoughts are with those who lost loved ones.

Happy Birthday Sephy and thank you for everything you do for me.

    I don’t often get emotionally caught up in overseas events so when I saw the live footage of the plane crashing into the tower I was surprised to find myself crying that morning. It seems to have been a turning point because I now “feel” things much more than I used to, and find myself getting teary-eyed at things, where I used to shrug them off since they didn’t directly concern me or mine. Guess that means I’ve grown, emotionally at least.

    River - It was difficult for all of us on the other side of the ocean too - that is what the Americans sometimes seem to forget. I had a huge argument with one woman who tried to tell me it didn’t affect me at all. This opinion came to me as a surprise. I think I know how I felt about it better than she does. I too saw that plane fly in to the second tower live. It was a horrible thing to see.
